Tsunami Strikes 2009

Breaking News

An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 7.9 struck Indonesia on Wednesday, the U.S. Geological Survey said. The quake was recorded about 33 miles from Padang, the capital city of West Sumatra, which is home to more than 800,000 people.

Several buildings were damaged, Metro TV reported. People were seen running out of their homes and toward the hills.

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration issued a tsunami watch for Indonesia, India, Thailand and Malaysia.

NOAA could not immediately say whether the quake generated a tsunami, but such advisories are issued when a quake has the potential to cause one. On Tuesday, a magnitude 8.0 quake -triggered tsunami killed at least 84 in the Samoan islands and Tonga.

Breaking News

Tsunami strikes at Samoan Island late tuesday or our local time at 6:00pm (Malaysian Time). A huge emergency effort is under way in the Samoan Islands after towering tsunami waves triggered by an 8.0 earthquake left dozens dead and entire villages flattened or submerged. Various area in Malaysia like Serdang, Petaling Jaya, Selangor Malaysia have signal of earthquake for those resided in high rise office building, apartments, condominium and etc.

However, I don't think Tsunami will hit us who live in Kuala Lumpur or Peninsular Malaysia which is protected by Sumatera (Indonesia) and Borneo (Sabah & Sarawak). However, for those who is happily enjoy their holidays in famous beach areas in Taiwan, Japan, Philiphines, Sabah Malaysia will be more cautious as the Tsunami waves is very great like what we sufferred in 2004.

The 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami killed over 300,000 people with many bodies either being lost to the sea or unidentified. Some unofficial estimates have claimed that approximately 1 million people may have died directly or indirectly solely as a result of the tsunami. According to an article in Geographical magazine (April 2008), the Indian Ocean tsunami of December 26, 2004 was not the worst that the region could expect. The first waves hits India then Sri Lanka, and the tsunami waves never rest and hit to South East Asia where Sumatra Indonesia and Phuket Island and several other islands in Thailand were badly hit by the Tsunami.

Readers please remind your friends who is leisuring or plan to holiday in the beach to evacuate yourselve or postpones your trip as soon as possible to prevent this tradegy happen.

Hi there, it has been a long long time that I barely open my blog to update the recent stuff. Well, here it goes from now on Gossip resume (after hibernating for 1 full year).

After some thought I really think I need to do some changes in updating this blog in order to reward readers to have the most out of it from every single entry that I post. At least it brings you laughter or benefit to you.

In the past, I update my blog with things that happened personally to me but i think that is not too fair for readers that one do not understant what is it about secondly, who cares!! Therefore, I plan to restrcuture abit of the entry that I'll post in the future. I would like the readers benefit from here and reading or following this blog that will lift up your boring life. The topics will only cover interesting topics that happen around you and me on a weekly basis.

The introduction entry after the long hibernation will be a little update of myself. I was busy with my kids for almost a year. Apart from work then there is only Family Life. To be a father is no easy task because I need to look after their FMBG (Fast Moving Baby Goods) the list goes on like Milk, Pampers, Body Lotion, Baby Cream, whatever stuff started with Baby. I no longer walk in to Zara, hardly step into cinema and of course I'm not the only one to take care the all this errand but my wife who is good in this after we have 2 babies.

Well all this boring stuff will make you stop reading it already. Let's start the interesting part. Forget about policitics, this is something worth sharing with you in the Malaysia neighbourhood. I came across an article lately and feel that i should put this up to share. At a very stereotype of view, i personally think that sex discrimination does exist in the office whether it is your call or isn't.

City Tour @ Tokyo, Japan (Part 2)

The Day Tour @ Tokyo really is a mouth-watering experienced where both of us really feel that it fills up our eager to know more about Tokyo.

Well besides sight-seeing japanese food and the night life are the one that i miss most after return to Kuala Lumpur. The foods are mouth-watering (sushi and udon) and the night life is damn entertaining (no shops close b4 00:00, what do you think, women? i think most women like it damn alot)

Back to shopping around at Tokyo you surely will suprised and shocked with the excellent services provided by the sales personnel in the store. Their attitude is superb and very polite. I think none of the world can provide such a friendly and warm services (no wonder their retail businesses are so good - Excellent Service, ichiban!!!). Places you shouldn't miss like Shibuya, Shinjuku , Harajuku and Ginza.

Look at the face of Pauline. I bet she really enjoy shopping in Tokyo and look at the damage (OMG).

Well the night view was taken at the famous junction @ Shibuya. One of Tokyo busiest railway station. Look at the crowd on the street. The crowd keeps on coming out from different subway exit at Shibuya Station.

Tokyo, Japan @ Day Tour

Tokyo has many to offer to the rest of the world. The city is full of architecture, design, food, technology and history. Well, to start talking about this city of east. Japan did really recovered quickily after the WW II. The rapid change of the city from war and had turn around to become the second largest economy force of the world after the United States in less than 50 years. (what a shame Malaysia, still fighting for new government, abolish NEP, and even we are so sad to say that our growth and development is slower than our neighbour city like Singapore and Bangkok) Besides, the emergence of giant corporations like Toyota, Panasonic, Mitsubishi, Sony and etc not only conquer in japan but also very popular outside the country.

So, to know more about the city of Tokyo we have decided to take a Day Tour on the following day to experience the most of Tokyo with limited time. The benefit of Day Tour is just nice for us (as both of us don't want to spend too much on coach), as we want to know more about the history and some of the landmarks in Tokyo. The Day Tour covers from the Emperor Palace, Roppongi Hill, Asakusa, Rainbow Bridge, Ginza and gardens.

After the tour, the most i like are Asakusa and Roppongi Hill. Both are landmark of Tokyo. If you hadn't visited this 2 places in Tokyo. It just seems like you never came before. Asakusa (浅草) is a district in Taitō, Tokyo, Japan, most famous for the Sensō-ji, a Buddhist temple dedicated to the bodhisattva Kannon. There are several more temples in Asakusa, as well as various festivals. For most of the twentieth century, Asakusa was the major entertainment district in Tokyo. The golden years of Asakusa are vividly portrayed in Kawabata's novel The Scarlet Gang of Asakusa. In its role as a pleasure district, it has now been surpassed by Shinjuku and other colorful areas of the city. Asakusa is also home to one of the geisha districts in Tokyo. Sensō-ji (金龍山浅草寺) is an ancient Buddhist temple located in Asakusa, Taitō, Tokyo. It is Tokyo's oldest temple. Outside the temple there are alot of shops selling japanese hand made souvenir and snacks for visitors. The best part of it is most of the stores offer different variety and you can really experience the different taste of Tokyo compare to Ginza district. Most of the stores offer Japanese home made confectionary to cute and handy souvenir. One of the most visited tourist spot in Tokyo.

Roppongi Hills is one of Japan's largest integrated property developments, located in the Roppongi district of Tokyo.

Constructed by building tycoon Minoru Mori, the mega-complex incorporates office space, apartments, shops, restaurants, cafés, movie theaters, a museum, a hotel, a major TV studio, an outdoor amphitheater, and a few parks. The centerpiece is the 54-story Mori Tower. Mori's stated vision was to build an integrated development where high-rise inner-urban communities allow people to live, work, play, and shop in proximity to eliminate commuting time. He argued that this would increase leisure time, quality of life, and benefit Japan's national competitiveness. Seventeen years after the design's initial conception, the complex opened to the public on April 23, 2003.

The Mori Tower is a 270 m, 54-story high-rise building housing an art museum, a cinema complex, restaurants, cafes, stores, the offices of Goldman Sachs, Lehman Brothers, TV Asahi, J-WAVE, Konami, Rakuten, Livedoor, Yahoo! Japan, and the Grand Hyatt Tokyo. The first six levels of Mori Tower contain retail stores and restaurants. The top six floors house the Mori Art Museum and the Tokyo City View with panoramic views of the city.

Asia most vibrant city - Tokyo, Japan (Travel)

Tokyo is the latest city i travel to after the United States. Compare to other cities in Asia like Hong Kong (the most high density country), the largest metropolitan Shanghai and now Tokyo. This 3 different cities gave me different feeling on them. Hong Kong has the most skyscapper. Shanghai a mixture of historical and futuristic city. Whereas, Tokyo is the most advance, neat and tidy city.

But to sum up the above 3 cities i think the only common thing i observed is the high living standard, over populated resident and bad traffic.

From Kuala Lumpur to Tokyo is approximately a 7 hour plus journey. When i step first step on the soil of the East, i straight away can feel the warm and friendly faces from the local. The culture of Japanese is really a good example to follow compare to the west and the rest of asia country. They are polite, respect others and warm. Finally, i understand why our former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir seek the "anak Malaysia" to practice the "Look East Policy" in 1981. The Japanese has the good attitude that we should learn from.

Well, back to the city of Tokyo. From Tokyo airport to downtown Tokyo the coach takes us about 1.5 hour to reach our hotel in Shinjuku and the fare of the coach is not cheap either it cost me 3,000 yen per trip. The coach system in Tokyo airport is very advance and systematic. You just bought a ticket then wait at the designated bus stop, there will be coach assistance explain to you on the arrival of coach and carry your luggage into the coach. (Damn it is so systematic and punctual)

Look at it... Far Far more advance compare to KLIA or any airport in the rest of the world. The digital signboard clearly stated time of departure, destination to drop off and up and coming coaches. (*the coach is really punctual)

The first meal in Tokyo. I really face some difficulty in this country - the language barrier. Most of the Japanese can't speak other language besides japanese. Luckily the restaurant's waitress is helpful enough to help us order some food to please our hungry stomach. (the food is too delicios that i had a noodle and rice box for my first meal) After we had settled our meal and replenish our energy the walk begins.

Pauline already start damage her purse for shopping in Shinjuku. Look at the shops, is already 23:00++ at night. The streets and the crowd is still alot.

Tokyo a vibrant city and it never sleeps, everywhere is packed with huge crowd. From subway to bus stop and from shopping malls to street. Everyone is walking with a average speed that is faster than the Malaysian. Finally, we surrender and quit walking instead of taking subway back to our hotel. I found that in Tokyo there are plenty of Pachinko shops everywhere around the corner. but i manage to get 1 photo of them near our hotel.

Some Pachinko in Tokyo offers 24 hours but some are not. This is the one that operate 24 hours. Nice and neat environment. I did try my luck in side but still don't know how it works.

Subway exit @ Shinjuku South near our hotel. I think Malaysia should follow such design and creativeness.

Fuel Price Control

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi on Wednesday announced that the new price for petrol is RM2.70 a litre, effective midnight tonight (4th June 2008). The price goes up by 78sen from the current RM1.92, a hike of 40%. Abdullah also announced that the price of diesel would be increased by RM1 from RM1.58 to RM2.58

First it was duh... then huh... then wa-lau can Fuel Price be Control? most of the Kuala Lumpur petrol stations owners are *blink* *blink* $ $ $ $ quick cash overnight. Most of the car owners even motocylists are queueing to fill the last gasp of RM 1.92 fuel. (while you are stuck in the queue why not ask yourself should i queue to pump the petrol or not there are 10 or more infront of me.) Definitely the fuel price will not go back to the old days of RM 1++ anymore in future. It will just never ever happens anymore or have you seen any price increase later drop to the old price.

So people just accept the fact and anyway you just save to pump a RM1.92 by tonight only 4th June 2008 (unless you can pump into a multi galoon tank lar... which is not possible lor). Effective 5th June 2008 until the XXXX years we will pump expensive fuel so the saving of 1 night is not worth for you to stuck for the whole night. Why not re-think how to resolve this microly (household), should we re-think to car-pool or take public transport...

The shock declaration really not a good news for the nation and for the people (like us small little potato in the country) but 1 mouth could not speak for the rest and just 1 mouth doesn't represent the whole population. The shock declaration will benefit the petrol station owner a big junk of cash on 4th June 2008 and news stand will shine on 5th June 2008 as everyone is concerned on the latest feed back of government to the public and opposition political party comment on the sudden increased.

So let's see how fuel price can be control. Let's check tomorrow newspaper. All i believe is the shock increase will not bring down easily by one word or two. This has been planned for sometimes and it is time to realise.

Travel to San Francisco (Part 10)

After 10 days in United States, across 3 states and many exciting cities. The one that i love to stay on is San Francisco. The weather is nice and the food is good. What else you expect more for a city like this?

According to the locals, everything in San Francisco is more expensive than other cities in California ranging from properties to dining. Example An apartment in Los Angeles cost you USD 300,000 but it can cost you USD 600,000 in San Francisco. So you have a rough ideas where to live in California if you intend to go there.

But why it is so expensive in San Francisco? The reason is from The California Gold Rush brought a flood of treasure seekers. With their sourdough bread in tow, prospectors accumulated in San Francisco raising the population from 1,000 in 1848 to 25,000 by December 1849. The promise of fabulous riches was so strong that crews on arriving vessels deserted and rushed off to the gold fields, leaving behind a forest of masts in San Francisco harbor.

San Francisco is a popular international tourist destination renowned for its steep rolling hills, an eclectic mix of Victorian and modern architecture, and famous landmarks, including the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz Island, Fisherman's Wharf, the cable cars, Coit Tower, and Chinatown. The city is also known for its diverse, cosmopolitan population, including large and long-established Asian American and LGBT communities. While the climate includes chilly summer fog, the winters are mild.

A closer look at the Alcatraz Island.

Alcatraz Island or mostly people known it as The Rock is a smaller island located in the middle of San Francisco Bay in California, United States. It served as a lighthouse, then a military fortification, then a military prison followed by a federal prison until 1963. The Alcatraz has the most natural defend as a prison. The island is covered by the Pacific Ocean sea with temperature less than 20degrees and sharks swimming around the area day and night. But yet 3 inmates from Alcatraz has ruined the good name of Alcatraz.

On the morning of June 12, 1962, guards at Alcatraz Prison discovered that inmates Frank Lee Morris, John William Anglin, and Clarence Anglin were missing from their cells. The inmates had fashioned dummy faces in their bunks and escaped the island prison using a makeshift raft constructed of rubber raincoats. Today, no report on the above inmates whether they are still alive or dead after their Prison Break.

The Landmark of San Francisco is The Golden Gate Bridge had the longest suspension bridge span in the world when it was completed in 1937 and has become an internationally recognized symbol of San Francisco and the United States. Since its completion, the span length has been surpassed by eight other bridges. It still has the second longest suspension bridge main span in the United States, after the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge in New York City.

Another sight seeing place and dining place you must not miss in San Francisco - The Fisherman's Wharf. It is best known for being the location of Pier 39, San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park, the Cannery Shopping Center, Ghirardelli Square, a Ripley's Believe it or Not museum, the Musée Mécanique, the Wax Museum at Fisherman's Wharf, Forbes Island and restaurants and stands that serve fresh seafood, most notably dungeness crab and clam chowder served in a sourdough bread bowl.

The clam chowder is so YUMMY that we had it twice during our stay in San Francisco. you can tell how it tastes from Pauline reaction. ZHENG!!!!

San Francisco also known as one of the epicenters of liberal activism, with Democrats, Greens, and progressives dominating city politics. Indeed, San Francisco has not given the Republican candidate for president greater than 20 percent of the vote since 1988. The gay rights contributions and leadership the city has shown since the 1970s has resulted in the powerful presence gays and lesbians have in civic life. A popular destination for gay tourists, it hosts San Francisco Pride, the world's best-known gay pride parade and festival.

finally, the most attractive part for women at down town San Francisco is Union Square - the shopping district. the best place to kill time and see ya San Francisco.
My 12 days stay in United States cost me to buy 2 additional luggage and to round up it is my best ever trip so far in my life.

National Historical Landmark, The Hearst Castle (Part 9)

On the way to San Francisco, we are passing another United States Landmark - The Hearst Castle. The history of Hearst Castle is way too long for me to remember each and every details. Luckily we have wikipedia to help if you want to know more about Hearst Castle history please read the following or skip to the photos.

Hearst Castle is the palatial estate built by newspaper magnate William Randolph Hearst (1863-1951). It is located near San Simeon, California, on a hill overlooking the Pacific Ocean, halfway between Los Angeles and San Francisco. Donated by the Hearst Corporation to the state of California in 1957, it is now a State Historical Monument and a National Historic Landmark, open for public tours.

Hearst Castle was built on a 40,000 acre (160 km²) ranch that William Randolph Hearst's father, George Hearst, originally purchased in 1865. The younger Hearst grew fond of this site over many childhood family camping trips. He inherited the ranch, which had grown to 250,000 acres (1000 km²), from his mother, Phoebe Apperson Hearst, upon her death in 1919. Construction began that same year and continued through 1947, when he stopped living at the estate due to ill health. San Francisco architect Julia Morgan designed most of the buildings. Hearst was an inveterate tinkerer, and would tear down structures and rebuild them at a whim, so the estate was never completed in his lifetime.

The estate is a pastiche of historic architectural styles that Hearst admired in his travels around Europe. For example, the main house is modeled after a 16th century Spanish cathedral, while the outdoor swimming pool features an ancient Roman temple front transported wholesale from Europe and reconstructed at the site. Hearst furnished the estate with truckloads of art, antiques, and even whole ceilings that he acquired in their entirety from Europe and Egypt.

Hearst Castle was like a small self-contained city, with 56 bedrooms, 61 bathrooms, 19 sitting rooms, 127 acres of gardens, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, tennis courts, a movie theater, an airfield, and the world's largest private zoo. Zebras and other exotic animals still roam the grounds. Morgan, an accomplished civil engineer, devised a gravity-based water delivery system from a nearby mountain. One highlight of the estate is the Neptune Pool, which features an expansive vista of the mountains, ocean and the main house.

Invitations to Hearst Castle were highly coveted during its heyday in the 1920s and '30s. The Hollywood and political elite often visited, usually flying into the estate's airfield or taking a private Hearst-owned train car from Los Angeles. Charlie Chaplin, Cary Grant, the Marx Brothers, Charles Lindbergh, Joan Crawford, Calvin Coolidge, William P. Clark, and Winston Churchill were among Hearst's A-list guests. While guests were expected to attend the formal dinners each evening, they were normally left to their own devices during the day while Hearst directed his business affairs. Since "the Ranch" had so many facilities, guests were rarely at a loss for things to do. The estate's theater usually screened films from Hearst's own movie studio, Cosmopolitan Productions. Hearst Castle became so famous that it was caricatured in the 1941 Orson Welles film Citizen Kane as Charles Foster Kane's "Xanadu". The estate is portrayed as a gloomy and ridiculously self-indulgent barony.

On top of the Enchanted Hill, The Hearst Castle over seeing the Pacific Ocean. (indeed very good feng sui Mansion)

I stand on a higher position to get a better angle to catch the entire swimming pool right outside of the main entrance of the Hearst Castle. OMG how i wish i owned one of this at my house.

After the outdoor shooting, we went inside the Hearst Castle, all the rooms are spacious and each and every of the room has its own and unique theme created by Julia Morgan as requested by Mr Hearst. A kind of strange feeling when i step inside the house like you are back to the past. Every piece of furnitures and arts and the renovations are so well maintain and reserved.

After taking more than 1.5 hours walking and browsing within the Hearst Castle, we thought we have come to the end but the Guide told us it is only half of the Hearst Castle. OMG... this is bloody huge man...

Well, which is the unforgettable statutes or arts that left in mind.. This is the one that really ink in my heart after the entire trip. The Indoor Swimming Pool in Hearst Castle. All marble used to built the swimming was fully imported from Italy and between the marble there are GOLD on the floor as well as the wall. The easier way to recognise GOLD is when u look down to the pool any object is yellowish and blinking that is GOLD. In fact, the indoor swimming pool is very well designed as you could see 2 different views - The Hill view or the Ocean view.

Solvang, The Danish Village (Part 8)

After the excitement in Las Vegas, i better cool down myself (no more bet... no more bet keep on rewind to my ears). Next, our coach is heading back to California and our next destination is San Francisco. Along the freeway, we will stopover at Solvang, The Danish Village in California. This small town has only 5000++ population and founded by Danish travellers in the early 1900.

Solvang means "Sunny Field" in Danish. The city is home to some bakeries, restaurants, and merchants offering a taste of Denmark in California. The architecture of many of the buildings follows traditional German style. There is a copy of the famous Little Mermaid statue from Copenhagen, as well as one featuring the bust of famed Danish fable writer Hans Christian Andersen.

What is the nice pick in this little town? Ice Cream, Sausage, Chocolate, and of course BEER. Last but not least, the Danish's souvenir.

Sin City, Las Vegas (Part 7)

Las Vegas is the most populous city in the state of Nevada (i think it is also very popular around the world as Sin City), an internationally renowned entertainment city for gambling, shopping, and nightlife. Although it is located in the middle of the dessert but Las Vegas still one of the destination that travellers should not miss when visit the United States.

After the Grand Canyon tour our coach drove us to the Sin City, approaching evening. Sun has rest and the lights are up in every street on Las Vegas. Especially the Casinos are all covered by neon lights as beautiful as it can be seen in the day mode. When our coach pass by the Las Vegas Strip where most of the famous hotel casinos located at, I just stun and my throat... WOW, WOW and WOW.

All the hotel casinos are full of slot machine sound and it is beautiful and unique, each and every of them carry its own theme, to name a few hotel casinos that you shouldn't miss when your stay in Las Vegass The Venetian, Caesars Palace, MGM Grand, Monte Carlo, New York New York, Bellagio, Stratosphere and Palazzo. PS this is only limited to the above i went, there are still more than 20 nice hotel casinos that i've never been.

Las Vegas is a city that never sleeps. At night, the city is covered by huge crowd on the street as well as inside the hotel casinos. These crowds are from United States as well as tourists. Believe it or not, in Las Vegas you just name what you want to do at night, Las Vegas offers all variety of activities for family to professional. Check it out HERE.

Look at the ceiling of this Hotel Casinos, the paiting is just IMPRESSIVE. @ Bellagio. People still checking in at midnight. Every weekend most of the famous Hotel Casinos are fully booked, so if you dont want to miss your schedule plan a head.

A few tips for you who is heading to Las Vegas.

Firstly, bring enough cash or make sure your credit card has sufficient credit. Secondly, explore the Sin City (you can have a thrill ride in the morning, enjoy a full spa with luxury facilities, dine in a fine restaurant for dinner, enjoy the clubs is one option if you are not interested on gambling and last but not least try little luck on the slot machine or table.)

The name Sin City has been given to Las Vegas is because the unrestricted availability of alcoholic beverages and adult entertainment.

The journey to Grand Canyon is long and chill... On the way up to the mountain, both side of the road is covered by snow.

After we get off from the coach, we still need to walk few minutes before we reached the National Park, Grand Canyon.

This is the Universal Studio in Hollywood, California. Do you know there are how manay Universal Studios in the world? Basically, Universal Studios set its base in California but they have 5 different Universal Studio across the globe. United States have 2 one in California (west coast) and the other one in Orlando (east coast) and the rest are located in different countries like Japan, Dubai, Singapore and South Korea.

This is headquarter of Universal Studios, Hollywood. a lot of movies and dreams start from here... the entire area i think is as big as a township. probably bigger...

My Best Trip Los Angeles, Hollywood (Part 3)

After the trip to San Diego and Sea World the Next day we are heading to Hollywood the soil of world Entertainment. This is the place of birth to alot of celebrities from United States across Europe and Asia. Hollywood is the place for those who dare to dream and take up the challenges in the entertainment industry.

We reached Hollywood in the morning and most of the shops still hanging a big "CLOSE" sign on the door step (as they open till late midnight on daily basis). During the Oscar the whole street of Hollywood will be closed and red carpet will roll over the entire street as the walk way.

My Best Trip, Part 2 (San Diego)

This is my 2nd post and continuos of my first post about my holiday to Los Angeles. Well have not much explain about Los Angeles, the weather in LA is really really nice the average weather is between 10 celcius to 18 celcius (whole year). Unlike other places the winter is like spring and you get a lot of sunshine in LA. (no wonder David Beckham & family move out from UK)

Look... this is the photo i taken from my hotel. the mountain infront is covered by snow. According to the locals you can do whatever you like in LA. During winter time you can go to the beach like summer after the beach you can go up the hill for skiing then come back to the lively city for entertainment at night.

After a good rest, the next day itinery is Sea World in San Diego, south of california near the Mexico border. San Diego is not only famous because of Sea World, it is also well known as the United States Navy Headquarter. Besides, San Diego also named as one of the best city to live in United States because of good weather and resourceful. THe journey from LA to San Diego takes approximately 2 hours plus along the way we pass by the Orange County and the Training camp of US Navy and Army and we saw this!!!

After taking a much long journey by coach, we have to catch up for a cruise tour along the San Diego bay where there are alot of Military Ship docked there.

Yes, this photo is worth to shout about... why? This is a mobile hospital ship which travel to give aid for navy and army during war. the capacity of this "hospital ship" is technically speaking bigger than a landed hospital more than 500 rooms and i think 100 ICU... walau can you imagine how many nurse is working inside? muahhahahahahhahha...

I can't recalled what does it call for this statue. But it is famous because of a Nurse fall in love with a Sailor and they met again after war. this statute appeared as the front page of TIME during that time.

in return, i also put her back to the post-war time. after US army successfully won on the 2nd World War. muahhahhahahhahahhahah

My Best Trip, The West Coast of United States - Part 1

Have you been travelling lately? How long you never take a break from your work? Sit back and re-think... you should take a break!!! Try something out NOW,

I've enough experienced travel around in Asia and had not travel any city out of Asia but this year means really BIG to me as me and pauline as we are travelling out Asia and heading to the United States for vacation. This sound so unreal at first, we have done alot of preparation before the 18 days trip to the West Coast of United States and Japan. Me and Pauline flying all the way from the Peninsular of Malaysia (located in South East Asia) to the far west of United States, Los Angeles. The entire journey isn't that long because we have transit in Japan before we reach Los Angeles. (but it is really time consuming and exhausted being too many stopover). But to sum up, this is the Best Trip ever i had in my life so far. Have you get yours? Try here.

Traffic Jam... this is the only word i will describe to YOU what Los Angeles is all about. Being the largest city of California, LA free way is jam, the down town is jam every where is Jam from 6am to 6pm. Believe it or not, according to the local traffic has been 2 sections in the early days One in the Morning and the other in the Evening but due to the higher income group of greater Los Angeles population increased to 13 million, each individual who live in LA own at least 2 cars and traffic jam has shorten from 2 sections to become 1 section. Jam from 6 am to 6 pm.

Besides, the most famous of Los Angeles is the Hollywood (the Oscar, the fame and name, celebrities and etc). Universal Studios, Disneyland and Sea World are places that you shouldn't miss if you are having your vacation in this city. Los Angeles is too big and don't ever try your luck to rent a car and try to go by your own. The jam is killing you and waste your time. The entire LA city is too huge for beginner on the road and yet most congested road in the world (every LA resident wasted the most time inside the car than any other resident in the world, averagely they have spent 96 minutes annually due to the bad traffic). The most easy way for traveller like you and me, pick up a phone and book for city tour. It will save a lot of your bucks yet you get to travel to alot of places.

The first day when we touch down in LA and head on to down town, you will definitely feel surprises. Due to the geographically location LA is located in the earth quake zone, therefore, you won't see high rise building like Malaysia's Twin Tower stood up in the hub of the city. The building here are build rather low to prevent against the natural disaster. Besides the cab here is really expensive than what you expected. The place where i stayed is called Anaheim, which is very close to Disneyland (of course you have to take a coach to reach the kids-fun-land)only 15 minutes journey. But from Anaheim to LA down town it will take you at least 1 hour and 15 min by train to reach. Learn some spanish before you go, it helps alot.

During our explorer in down town LA, the only unique place we found was the Olvera Street(and is otherwise known as the birthplace of the City of Angels in latin) At here, you could find cross border products from Mexico like clothes, dresses, women accessories, and even tequilla. Along the street market there are alot of stores offer latin food as well. Try some!

Visiting the oldest house in LA, The Avila Adobe located on Olvera Street, the house has been preserved by the LA local authority and this dining room has more than 100 years old in history.

After a little walk on Olvera Street, we are feeling exhausted as the weather in LA is dry and both of us like being dehydrated and quickily take a train back to our hotel in Anaheim.

This is the Union Station near China Town and Olvera Street Market. Please present your ID if you want to purchase a Train Ticket. It is strange, in Malaysia we just buy and go. Maybe here is America that's why it is different.

Just in case if you were lost, look for this landmark this is the Union Station.

The new name in the Grand Slam title. In the pass few years, the Men Grand Slam winner is only Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal but this year the newly crowned Men and Women Australian Open 2008 champion Novak Jovokic and Maria Sharapova had won the applause from the crowd so do their opponent. Both the champs share a similarity as the first time Australian Open, Grand Slam title winner in their name. Both the runner-up JW Tsonga and Ana Ivanovic had proved they are the "must watch" player in the next tournament or Grand Slam in the Men and Women tennis. Their "never-die" attitude represents them, and they fought all the way to the finals and still fighting for the crown.

Australian Open 2008

The first Grand Slam of the year Australian Open 2008 has come close to the final. Melbourne Park is always famous of surprises like in 2006 it was Marcos Baghdatis who thrilled us all the way to the men's final, last year it was Fernando Gonzalez. This year the emergence of french power house - Jo-Wilfried Tsonga is the man in final against the winner between Roger Federer or Novak Djokovic.

Tsonga has really impressed me prior to this AO 2008. I saw some of this powerful play and he is the man to watch in this coming years. The giant killer outclassed Andy Murray, Richard Gasquet and Rafal Nadal all the way to storm into this sunday final. Anyway, I like underdog like Tsonga. Eventually everyone who watches sports like to see upset. (correct me if i'm wrong) They work very hard on the court yet they enjoy the game.

Besides, the giant killer i mentioned. There is one that you should never overlook is the giant killer nation from Serbia. Novak Djokovic will take on the semi final against the Fedex and 2 of the women semi final spot were taken by them. Jelena Jankovic and Ana Ivanovic. I personally like Ana Ivanovic who eventually emerged to the winner in a thriling quarter-final against the william and an epic semi final against Daniel Hantuchova, where she fought back from 1 game down and take the winner. (congrates!! Ana) The lanky Ana is jus 20 and will play Maria Sharapova also 20 in the AO 2008 Women Final on this saturday.

MacBook Pro

After years I've been using my old laptop... I had recently changed to a new platform of Apple, the MacBook Pro (is damn cool man...)

At first, i was encougrage by Pauline to buy the MacBook. But due to the weak eye sight i have, i've no choice to decline the proposal and therefore choose the MacBook Pro which rovides me a 17" model and resolve my problem. We are a bit hesitate when we choose the MacBook as we don't really understand the OperatingSystem and functions of MacBook. but the sales fella in Machines (the store at Lot 10, reseller of Apple in Malaysia) convinced that they will launch a tutorial class for new user like me to attend and understand more about MacBook. For your information, this is not a paid post therefore, just read it as my personal journal and i found somehting that i would like to share like i did with Mike. Apple is really something new to me. The Operating System is no longer windows which they call it Leopard (so sexy) at first, I really a bit upset because i've to adapt and learn the new OS but eventually i found it to be INTERESTING and have FUN with the MacBook.

The internet explorer is no longer there and there is a cool icon called Safari is the internet explorer. The MacBook Pro also will light up the keyboard when you are in dark. The start up is eventually faster as compare to any windows.

This is what so far i've experienced, i'll share more to you when the days come... I'm lovin' it MacBook Pro.

I was just reminded by friends that my blog has been quiet for quite sometimes again... well there were too many celebration on December, Christmas, Boxing Day and New Year.

Two Thousand Seven seems a really busy year for me and i believe so do you. Big change for me as I from single become married and from a single guy become a father of a baby (it really changed alot !!!) To wrap up a bit here it goes...

What I've done in 2007 (nothing too great to share but just for my memory purposes as i don't have a powerful memory to remember what i've done so just record here for my reference in future.) muahahahahahahahhhah

Who is your favourite singer? Well, He is one of my favourite singer,Jay Chou 周杰倫. I knew about his existence back to year 2001, when I still staying in Melbourne, Australia completing my final year of uni life. One of my friend bought his album Jay and asked me to listen together without refer to the lyris.

I was amazed that we can't understand what he is singing even we understand mandarin but his outstanding way of carrying the songs really amazed alot. But the way he speaks Mandarin really confused many because you hardly can understand the word from his mouth which make him special and and bring him fame for the pass 6 years. Being the most popular chinese male singer in Taiwan, China and alot of places. He even won the rookie in movies industry after the successful film of Initial D, a famous Japanese Comics. The movie also name after the comics.

Japanese save a lot. They do not spend much. Also Japan exports far more than it imports. Has an annual trade surplus of over 100 billions. Yet Japanese economy is considered weak, even collapsing.

Americans spend, save little. Also US imports more than it exports. Has an annual trade deficit of over $400 billion. Yet, the American economy is considered strong and trusted to get stronger.

But where from do Americans get money to spend?

They borrow from Japan, China and even India.
Virtually others save for the US to spend. Global savings are mostly invested in US, in dollars.

India itself keeps its foreign currency assets of over $50 billions in US securities. China has sunk over $160 billion in US securities.
Japan's stakes in US securities is in trillions.

Result:

The US has taken over $5 trillion from the world. So, as the world saves for the US, Americans spend freely. Today, to keep the US consumption going, that is for the US economy to work, other countries have to remit $180 billion every quarter, which is $2 billion a day, to the US!

A Chinese economist asked a neat question. Who has invested more, US in China, or China in US? The US has invested in China less than half of what China has invested in US.

The same is the case with India. We have invested in US over $50 billion.
But the US has invested less than $20 billion in India.

Why the world is after US?

The secret lies in the American spending, that they hardly save. In fact they use their credit cards to spend their future income. That the US spends is what makes it attractive to export to the US. So US imports more than what it exports year after year.

The result:

The world is dependent on US consumption for its growth. By its deepening culture of consumption, the US has habituated the world to feed on US consumption. But as the US needs money to finance its consumption, the world provides the money.

It's like a shopkeeper providing the money to a customer so that the customer keeps buying from the shop. If the customer will not buy, the shop won't have business, unless the shopkeeper funds him. The US is like the lucky customer. And the world is like the helpless shopkeeper financier.

Who is America's biggest shopkeeper financier? Japan of course. Yet it's Japan which is regarded as weak. Modern economists complain that Japanese do not spend, so they do not grow. To force the Japanese to spend, the Japanese government exerted itself, reduced the savings rates, even charged the savers.

Even then the Japanese did not spend (habits don't change, even with taxes, do they?). Their traditional postal savings alone is over $1.2 trillions, about three times the Indian GDP. Thus, savings, far from being the strength of Japan, has become its pain.

Hence, what is the lesson?

That is, a nation cannot grow unless the people spend, not save. Not just spend, but borrow and spend.

Dr. Jagdish Bhagwati, the famous Indian-born economist in the US, told Manmohan Singh that Indians wastefully save. Ask them to spend, on imported cars and, seriously, even on cosmetics! This will put India on a growth curve. This is one of the reason for MNC's coming down to India, seeing the consumer spending.

But before you follow this neo economics, get some fools to save so that you can borrow from them and spend!!!

Jose Mourinho was an ultimate impact of Chelsea success and the mastermind behind the Blues.... Believe it or not. Yesterday we see the Blues defeated by Man United at the Old Trafford, a fair play and pretty convincing displayed by the United players like Tevez scoring the first goal for United right before the first half session crossed by Giggs and Saha tranformed the controvery spot kick that lead Man United winning 2-0 at full time.

During the service of the portugese Jose Mourinho, Alex ferguson has only won once draw 5 and loss 5 against the Blues out of the 11 meetings. A very sudden departure of Jose Mourinho after the draw with Rosenborg at Stamford Bridge last week when the board disclosed that Jose left with "mutual consent". So who do you think football maniac?? Do you want Jose Mourinho still attached with EPL??

Well, in my opinion i really want Jose Mourinho to stay with Chelsea for another few good years, his exists really contribute alot of excitements to EPL and the European Champions League. Chelsea fans like him, even the rivals fans like me (i'm Man united fan) also love him to stay. Football is not only about winning or lossing (although win is important for the club) but for us we like to watch beautiful football that display alot of skills, tactics and strategies. Even the rivals manager like Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger both praised the portugese manager and sad to see him leave the EPL.

I still clearly reminded a quote from Jose Mourinho during his interview session at ESPN sports centre last week saying that:

Jose: I love the club, I love the fans, I love Chelsea FC. If the people love me I will give 100% of my love in return. If you hate me and force me, I'll hate you and give you what you deserve.

From the above statement it was so clear that he has some bust up with the bosses on top, no support from the top management even like us working in the corporate world also feel one word "SIEN". I also will quit the company don't say he is Jose Mourinho, aren't you?

At here i wish Jose Mourinho the best of luck in all your future undertakings and hope he will return to another football club to see him in action again!!

Lay off, Berjaya Hill Homes and Genting Highland, Malaysia

Looking on my previous post date... it was nearly half a month that no update on gossip with david...i understand that alot of my viewers happened to ask me... "David you give up your blog already ar??"... to clear all these doubt well i gossip with david blog is coming back again.
Well where have I been for the pass month... (i) been busy arrange for "indon maid", (ii) busy looking for baby sitter for baby Sara, (iii) busy gathering with friends, (iv) busy arrange holiday for 2 me and pauline and (v) busy with my current stuff

In fact, for the pass half month i really busy on all the above... finally, everything have been resolved and I really need a holiday with pauline (only for both of us after tired of taking care baby and lots of errand to run) i still recalled our last vacation were to Hong Kong during CNY... and that't it, we have never been organised any trip after we know about the arrival of baby Sara.

So, this time I'm the organiser for the trip to reward pauline after her delivery of baby sara... pretty much options to choose from Penang to Club Med and from Avillion to Redang Island...(we even think of flying to nearest city like Bangkok, Macau and etc but it's over our budget..) so after some indepth discussion we planned our trip locally... The itinery Berjaya Hill Homes (previously known as Bukit Tinggi Resorts) cum Genting Highlands.

People will think that why Berjaya Hill Homes and Genting Highland. Well to escape from city i prefer to get a short holiday to beach or island or some places that are cooling.. in order to keep our trip fun and enjoyable we picked Berjaya Hill Homes as we've never been there but hear about the places for years. In addition, Genting currently are running a few promotions for the low season and we get our Room + Fly show for only RM223.00. If you want to know more about the room rates check out at the Genting websites alot of options for you to pick from if you want to get yourself out from the city and a night in the cooling resorts.

A 1.5 hours journey from Kuala Lumpur will be the home of Berjaya Hill Homes, where the famous Hill Resorts located 2,700-3,500 feet above sea level, Pahang, Malaysia. What to expect if you never been to this place? It is great with no expectation as both of us have never in our life think of going to this Hill Resort and certainly the Berjaya Hill Resorts bring alot of excitement for us.. During our drive all the way up to the hill we were thinking of how the famous Japanese Village and French-themed Resort look like... Suprised!!!

Both the Japanese Village and French-themed Resort look gorgeous from far and when we drew closer the French-themed Resort also known as Colmar Village in France is a picture postcard come alive. After settled down we planned to have a lunch on this Colmar Village and later on heading towards the famously known "Gambling Haven" the Genting Highlands.

After some discussion with Pauline, we decided to go to the Japanese Village first then only headed to the French-Themed Resorts as the Japanese Village is located on top of the hill. This photo is the traditional Japanese Tea House. Guest is prohibited to go in unless you rented a Kimomo and take photo with the Tea Lady. (i feel a bit cheated... why??? because we travel all the way to discover this place then the catch is here... You need to pay to take photos... WTF!!)

I quickily take a few photos of this traditional Japanese Tea house, the entire garden and interior is designed renowned japanese architect Mr Kaio Ariizumi and 22 skilled craftman from Japan, pretty impressive right...

The tour of Japanese Village is far from impressive and it is not finish yet, me and pauline take a walk across the lush green which directed us to a new place...

This is the place TaTami Spa a minute away from the Japanese Tea House, but prior appointment is needed if you want to try the Spa service.

A closer look on the Tatami Spa, the main door is clocked down to avoid patrons to walk across.

After visited the Japanese Tea House and Tatami Spa garden, both of us feel like heading back to our car and then go to the Colmar Village (the french village), a route that lead us about 300 meter away and we passed the Botanic Garden. (of course i'm not interested in gardening or flower so we just take a skip on this)

We are heading to the Colmar Village, this shot is taken from our car, the journey from Japanese Village to the Colmar Village takes less than 5 minutes. (i think i'm speeding, to show some drift to Pauline... muahahahahahahahahah)

Right before the entrance of the car park you could see this... I think is DUCK...what do you call it??

After i've parked my car in a decent carpark offer by the Colmar Village, here is the main street of the French-Themed Resorts. Everything seems so unreal but it is a nice place to hang out with close friends to take a few days off from work or the busy city lifestlye, there are pubs and golf course as well not too far from this place. Due to weekday you don't see the crowd. PS. I don't think the place will packed by crowded tourists during weekend as the place don't offer much entertainment compare to the nearest Genting Highland and Resorts.

Featuring David on the main street of Colmar Village, only few couples on the coffee shop and a group of people attending their company's training from Bayern Corp Malaysia. It seems like a dead town, but the place is so neat that i wish to come here again on weekend to lay off.

Finally, settled down for our lunch at La Flamme, opposite is a bookstore further down there are souvenir shops and foot massage centre.

The end of the main street and both sides are the different themed Resorts. Is time to leave the place and heading to Genting Highland.

A 30 minutes journey we have reached the Resort Hotel, both of us are pretty tired till then. Before we entered our hotel room we expect it to be a run down and average room because we booked from online. But this photo tells it all. The room is totally out of our expectation, if you were ask me to rate the Resort Hotel room i will give 9 out of 10.

A comfy king size bed for us to take a nap before heading for tonight's show, The FLY at First World, Pavilion.

This is the view from our hotel room, you can see the Outdoor Theme Park and the thrilling space shot, height at 185 feet and travel on the speed of 67km/hour. Must try if you have no heart problem!!!

Just able to catch a shot from our hotel to the Awana Genting, the scenery is beautiful and calm.

After the rain, the fog getting thinner and the entire environment and scene from the top of the resorts seems so comfortable that you could stay there for life.

This is it, a 2 Days 1 Night stay and lay off at peak of the Highland. A trip that is memorable for once and hope to get another one in the near future. So folks, if you really don't know where to break away from your work, Genting Highland might be a good place, don't associate with the gambling activities first but to relax and slow down your pace. Sometimes, you will look further and clearer when you get a brighter sight.

Merdeka

Counting down the days of Malaysia's National Day on the 31 August 2007 (1 day left)... over the years you will only listen people shouting, screaming and yelling Merdeka!! Merdeka!! Merdeka for no reasons and for fun... if you don't believe step yourself out tonight in Dataran Merdeka or any big gathering of celebration you'll understand all. Different group of people will have different tune and they try to act like our beloved Tunku Abdul Rahman when we declared independence in the Merdeka Stadium back then in 1957. (I hope as a Malaysian please pay high respect on the "Merdeka" before it fly out from your mouth and do not spoilt it)

This year celebration of National Day will be a grand one from the government and private sector however, the government feels that private sector should contribute to this as well and released a statement few months ago about at all expenses on promoting our Nationa Day will be fully deducted in the financial year end of the company. (Walau... like that also can ar... If the cabinet release this news earlier I think today in down town Kuala Lumpur you will see a lot of display of this everywhere liao.. pls take note in future...)

As a Malaysian, what can we do and play a role in this celebration....well, i don't seem what much the Malaysian can do instead just behave like a good boy will be more than enough because new rules coming out stated don't simply make fun with the national flag lar (therefore, don't stick on your car bonek or sun roof anymore u r not patriotic but shameless simply display it) , don't simply edit national anthem (the 黃明志 Namewee case) and alot more. In fact, as a Malaysian the latter is truly mis-behaved, the namewee case had brought alot of attention to the cabinet as well as the media reporting the mis-used of national anthem and bla bla bla... As an adult, i think namewee you are over the line anyway, your song like Muar Chinese and Kawanku had brought sufficient fame for you so don't simply go further like nobody business... you know lar Malaysia is a place that you can throw your unhappiness out but only limited to condition, environment, close friends or keep underneath your own heart. (don't say i am chicken to do so... if any Malaysian try to act funny against the government or stupid ISA will come after you... this only not appear in "Ripley's believe it or not")

Anyway, for those of you who have resided out of Malaysia, i hope you find your happiness there but you will face the same difficulties in the other hand because you are just simply 3rd class citizen to them. For the pass 30 years i've stayed here in Malaysia i still find here is a good place to live and work for.

Last but not least, I wish Malaysia happy birthday in advance and I can't give you big present as i can't afford it. But, I think you've receive a big "present" from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries yesterday, a foreign investment of RM4.1bil in the Iskandar Development Region (IDR) in Johor.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer retires from Manchester United

I started to learn and play football in a very late age of 20++. From there on the club I always support is Manchester United until today. I've seen the club growing from conquer the English Premier League till the Europe.

For all the years there are few players that really left so many memories to me. The hard and solid of Roy Keane, the power forward Eric Cantona, the freekick specialist David Beckham and the Baby Face Assassin Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Today, as usual i go through Soccernet and found out that Ole is going to retire with a bad knee injury he suffered for years. What a waste for such a talented player going to retire after 11 years of service in the club. Ole is recognised as a scoring machine and super sub for United over the years and his superb performance in the last minute of game always turn around the results. Ole brought a lot of sweet memory for Man United fans and he was never be forgetted with his famous goal for United. Besides, Ole who famously scored the winner in the Champions League final against Bayern Munich to help the club win the treble in 1999 was the sweetest among the rest.

In fact, I've nothing to say much but wish this talented Norwegian striker all the best in his future undertaking. Good Bye Ole!!!

Manchester United 2007 first goal by Nani

The poor displayed of the champion Manchester United on the opening season of the Premiership 2007, finally taste the sweet victory over Tottenham in Old Trafford by winning 1 nil to goal. The first win and first goal for United in the new season.

The attacking force of Manchester United has proven much doubt when the duo Wayne Ronney and C. Ronaldo both absence for the United for the pass few games. As a Manchester United fan, my heart nearly cracked down when the score line still draw at 0-0 during half time. Ferdinand and Van der Sar nearly slip a goal to Berbatov during the 2nd half. A fantastic long shot from Nani finally secure a WIN to the United. But i still disappointed with the current Man United form. A lot of room for improvement... I think Fergie better keep Brown a side (he got too many mistakes during each game he played.)

Exciting Weekend - EPL + La Liga + Serie A

This weekend football fans around the world come alive when the long awaited european leagues are all gear up where the La Liga and Serie A both in scheduled and EPL in action again.

The opening season of EPL created much upset for the favourites especially the Champion, Manchester United had been under performed so far after major signing of top players from other major leagues in Europe like the inclusion of Nani, Anderson, Owen Hagreaves and Carlos Tevez didn't really give an impact to the team. United suffered 2 draws and 1 defeat in the opening 3 games, and yet to find the winning form. This weekend features Man United against Tottenham will be a test to the champion again to find the winning ways for the team and I'm sure Man United will grab 3 points in Old Trafford by all means. On the other hand, Premiership's leader Man City will travel to Emirates Stadium to extend the lead and Arsenal without Defender William Galas and Goalkeeper Lehmann on this weekend will receive a tough challenge from the inform City Team lead by Sven Erickson. Last weekend, derby upset against the champion Man United had boost the confident of the Man City team and Arsene Wenger once again has to prove the youth are paying the effort to survive in the Premiership and end the fairy tale run by the City team. Arsenal has to count on Fabregas, Van Persie and Helb to find the net if they want to upset the inform City.

Some wins will be foresee from Aston Villa, Newcastle, Liverpool, West Ham and Birmingham City in the weekend showdown.

Well, from England let's move to Italy. Juventus, Genoa and Napoli promoted back to Serie A certainly will create some upset this season. The curtain raising Italian Super Cup between Inter Milan and AS Roma had once again proved that the excitement of Calcio where AS Roma defeated Inter by one goal to nil. This season no team is on minus point and welcome the previous contender of Serie A, Juventus lead by Claudio Ranieri will once again challenge for the title and looking forward to qualify for Europe by end of the season. The La Liga will kick off this weekend and the curtain raising Spain Super Cup between Real Madrid and Sevilla had see the weakness in defence displayed by Real Madrid once again when they stumbled to Sevilla by 5-3. Real Madrid had removed Fabio Cappelo this season and included a list of players like Arjen Rubben, Gariel Heinze, Javier Saviola, Wesley Sneijder and many more to defend the title. On the other hand, Barcelona had captured the service of Arsenal's star Thiery Henry will once again challenge the title from Real Madrid where they loss on head to head count last term. Long Night again

It has been a long night again... the departure of nanny on Monday, certainly left alot of blues for my family. Finally, I realised that when additional helping hand really help us alot from cooking, washing, feeding or even sleeping... (kinda of miss her... help lar!!!!) Apart from taking care on the normal routine, we (me, pauline and my mom) take rotation like football strategy to take care of baby Sara. It has been a long night for the person taking the night shift. (pauline didn't sleep at all!! amazed!!! and I have to thank her so much because she is the person that need a lot of rest during her confinement month instead of jaga Baby for the whole night... i feel sorry...)

The time table of taking care of Baby Sara distributed into 3 shift, My Mom in the Morning (8 hours), Pauline in the Afternoon (8 hours) and Me in the Night (8 hours)... this is how we define our time, you take as much rest as possible when you are not occupy so that when your shift comes you are as enegetic as the baby... (at last i really feel i'm aging, cannot tahan anymore...)

Today marked the 3rd night of taking care of Baby Sara, writing blog and surf the internet is the only way to kill time.. In order to make myself awake the whole night, research on shares and football is the only entertainment i have.... kinda of weird like i can't even nap if she sleeps beside me...

Baby Sara wakes up every 2 hours in the night... why? the only answer either starving or shit... so my role is simple at night make milk or clean shit... But, sometimes I also experienced that she is not hungry and shit but just cry the whole night... this really out of my control and i have no choice to wake pauline or my mom up to give me a helping hand... sometimes really dont know what the baby wants.

That's all for now... have to make milk again..(adapting fatherhood..)

So this weekend, where you putting your penny in? United and Spurs will definitely grab 3 points after a recent slump in the new campaign of Premiership. The new season of EPL kicked off on the 11th August 2007 and we see quite a number of upset on the first game of EPL new season. With the inclusion of new players and managers in all Premier League club the most outstanding clubs for the opening week were Manchester City, Sunderland, Reading, Derby and Newcastle.

Sunderland lead by Roy Keane (Manager) from the Championship League last season to win a come back in the Premiership upset Tottenham in the opening match with a solid defence and a last minute goal which gained them a solid 3 points ahead of the new campaign in the Premiership.

Manchester City and Newcastle lead by the new managers in charged never disappoint the fans and gained 3 points both defeat West Ham and Bolton away from home.

The most surprised pacakge came from Reading and Derby. Both work very hard on the pitch to draw with champion Manchester United and Portsmouth respectively. Reading displayed a rock defence against the champion and never give up even they are down to 10 men at the last 10 minutes of the game. Manchester United attacking wasn’t effective enough in the entire game and didn’t create much a problem for Reading defence.

Lately, I always tuned on to 101.8 MyFM, Malaysia Top Chinese Radio Station when I was driving. Knowing that the DJ and crews will host a Live 50 hours long broadcast in the busiest Golden Triangle, the main entrance of Sungai Wang Plaza, Kuala Lumpur today. The entire live broadcast will last for 50 hours from 17th August until 19 August 2007 and all MyFM DJ and Guests will take part and invited in this memorable event.

In fact, the event is conjuntion with the celebration of MyFM's 9th anniversarry and Malaysia celebrate its 50th independence. All MyFM's DJ will take routine in this 50 hours non stop special broadcast infront of pubic and followers of this radio station 101.8 can catch them live and visit them... Manchester United summer spending don't seem to be favaorable for Alex Ferguson team. Subsequent to the inclusion of Anderson, Nani, Owen Hagreaves, Tevez for the preparation to defend their title this season, the champion was upset again yesterday away at Fratton Park and C. Ronaldo was sent off from the pitch.

A disappointed opening campaign for the champion, Manchester United has loss its pace, drawing consecutive games both home and away to Reading and Portsmouth. With a handful of talented strike force, creative midfielders and solid defence the champion once again playing the worst football in their opening matches collecting 2 points and lying at midtable now. What a shameful display and my heart aching...

The new campaign of EPL had created much surprises too especially for Manchester City and Sunderland. Well, the worst performance team should be Tottenham and Manchester United. Tottenham spending about 40 million pound not yet secure a win so far and seating at the bottom of the Premiership and Manchester United drawing both games.

However, it is only the opening matches and do not forget there are still 36 matches to go for all clubs. I believe this weekend Manchester United and Tottenham will grab 3 points from their respective game.

Mix Feeling

Today recorded the 13 days of being a father... Mix feeling... Well where the *hell* I have absenced for the pass weeks... Well here is some summary for you guys (not in Malaysia wan...)

The first week of fatherhood or should I say parenthood is not easy stuff... You have to be alert, when little baby cries (either Hungry or Shit...) so I bared the responsibilities of make milk (in the midnight) or clean the little shit for baby ... Obviously, I'm lacked of sleep.... (therefore never update my blog..). Anyway, Pauline also helps along lar... She is the one breastfeed our baby.

Well, all the above task have been taking over by the nanny when she arrived 4 days later... what a relieved for myself, pauline and my parents are exhausted of taking care of baby... I found myself like lost some of my short term memory at that time due to tiredness.

Unfortunately, baby kena jaundice after discharged from the hospital in the 5th day. She had to stayed overnight for 3 Days 2 Nights in the hospital to be observed under the special sunlight. Luckily she recovered in time but the mummy *worried* her so much... muahahahahahaha (hardly see Pauline so kan cheong!!!) A week has passed quickily and we still haven't name her... (according to the Pendaftaran Negara Malaysia we have an allowance of 2 weeks to submit our baby name at any branch of PNM.)

During the 1st and 2nd weeks a lot of friends visited us and baby... appreciate a lot!!! Besides, I have to thanks a few name here. Peng Leong for the big Ang Pow. Ah Shue, Johnson, Max, Law, Grace, Irene, Kay Peng, Joyce, Yin Kee, Kang Han, Suet Han, Esther for the presents like Baby Chair, Clothes and many many more. Thank You so much...

Today marked a historical day for our baby. We have finalised and included a english name in her IC. The final SARA GAN SHIN E. So next time you all can call her Sara or Shin E.

2. Japan (10 million cars produced)

Asia is the largest cars production in the world stands at total world production of 28% (Total cars production 2005 were 66 millions). Lead by Japan, China and South Korea. In fact, South Korea really impressed me a lot. They have been emerged as a top 5 producer of cars in the world and with their rapid conglomerates in the world's electrical and electronics industry like giant Samsung and LG. (some fact from wikipedia: In the 1950s, South Korea was one of the poorest countries in Asia. At the end of World War II, the country inherited a colonial economic system designed solely for Japan's needs. Much of the country's infrastructure was destroyed during the Korean War that followed in 1950-1953. After the war, South Korea became heavily dependent on U.S. aid.)I personally think that Samsung, Hyundai and Kia will give a fierce challenge in the automotive industry very soon in the future.

Now what about our local manufacturers Proton and Perodua? Are we improving over the years or we just remained at the same position?

Summer always a lucrative period for film makers all around the world.

This summer 2007 audience like me have enough experience of computer effects in movies like SpiderMan, Fantastic 4, Transformer and Harry Potter from the west. In Hong Kong, this summer I've just watched the action movie, The Invisible Target starring by Nicholas Tse, Shawn Yue, Jaycee Chan, Wu Jing, Andy On and some veteran who return to the big screen were Mark Cheng and Lam Ka Wah (both have played brilliantly in their role as "police inspectors")the chinese style of Kung-Fu appeared in the big screen which the actions are more REAL and it's always edged over computer effects.

The story is about an armoured truck is secretly transporting $100 million for a US bank when it is hijacked by a band of robbers calling themselves the "Ronin Gang". The gang blows up the truck and makes off with all the cash. Three young detectives, led by Chen Jin (Nicholas Tse), are soon assigned to thwart another massive bank robbery organized by the Ronin Gang.

Astro Problems again..

I've bad experience lately regarding the one and only pay TV in Malaysia, Astro. The latest announcement on the paid channel like Astro on Demand on Channel 931 has been widely marketed and my family is kind of like it and I've no choice to subscribe for my family sake (Astro the only pay TV channel you can watch Hong Kong drama)

So at 21:30 Malaysian time the channel 931 will deliver the latest Hong Kong TVB series that I'd subscribed. But, we have been waited until 22:00 nothing appear on the TV screen... I screamed to myself WTF is this stupid Astro is doing??!!! You charge us extra for the paid channel and what in return??? You make your viewers like me to suffer in return!!!

Without much hesitation I rang up Astro's customer service no. at 1300 82 8888 which I've waited for more than 10 minutes on the phone to get entertained by the customer service personnel to pick up the damn phone and she didn't even give me a clear picture on what is happening at Astro and ask me to call again tomorrow morning. (I'm not sure she knows the problem at that time.)

I really frustrated with such a poor attempt she done on me and she slammed the phone because she can't answer my queries (I asked: Is the customer service manager there?). The way she talks and reacts really spoil your good name and unprofessional and I strongly believed she never undergo any training before, and I'm curious how such a lousy person capable to stand in the front line of your customer service department. (you need to improve it!!!)

Now the problem with Astro customer service, whenever there is problem or issue arise the customer service personnel always give the same excuse as "technical problem", this isn't the first time I called up and being attended to such a bad excuse and they just keep repeating it for years!!!!

Are you telling me your Astro on Demand channel is only looking for demand but Astro are not going to supply any services to the public. (if it is that case please don't charge us extra to expect such a poor service from you.)

To blog or Not To Blog is a subjective question for many people who are involved in blogosphere. Well, today a lot of people are misleading that blog could make you rich overnight. Do you think this is true arr????

Why not ask yourself what is your objective to Blog in the first place.

In the latest Business Week featured a lot of successful bloggers like problogger, perezhilton and many more that review How Top Bloggers Today Make Money from their blog.

But after reading a few articles I discovered 1 COMMON "thing" that all top bloggers shared. They blog not for money in the first place. They only realised that people appreciate their blog after sometimes and the followers are increasing and they start making money from ads and traffic.

That's right!!! To be successful in blogosphere there isn't any alternative, to blog or not to blog is totally up to the author. As long as you are writing with heart and effort will pay off in the future (not necessary sometimes). There is no one guarantee that your blog will be successful after consistently writing in the pass.

I feel some stupid stuff here again with Astro nowadays. On April 2007, I received a formal letter from Astro for all its subcribers about the rise of monthly subscription which will take place accordingly in June 2007 because they have added a few new channel for our leisure and have upgraded their infrastruture to get us better viewing (even raining days..But, I still can't watch Astro when it's rain!!!)

I think all this are really crap to tell.... Astro just tell us you need.. extra money that's it!!!

On June 2007, I discovered there is new Channel in Astro 36 calls "Astro On Demand". After your subscription viewers will receive live Hong Kong TVB series screen on your channel 36 at the same date and time as Hong Kong. Put this word you watch live TVB drama if you pay Astro On Demand!!! (holy shit I won't do that and I won't let my mom follow the crazy series like a zombie seating there waiting for the show to turn up!!)

How I wonder, we have already pay you (Astro) monthly subscription that is close to RM90++ and now again you intended to lure more revenue by putting your subcriber (me)more burden on this leisure. I sincerely tell you (Astro) I watch less than 10 hours a week on Astro. Again, do you think I'll subscribe the Pay Channel? NO WAY!!!!

Rain Forest World Musical Festival 2007

Rain Forest World Musical Festival 2007 held the tenth time this year. The event is organised annually and host in Kuching, Sarawak Malaysia on the 13th to 15th July 2007.

The well-knowned event gathers world's musicians to celebrate a fusion of nature, culture and ethnic music in a living museum known as the Sarawak Cultural Village. This culture exchanged invites aborigines from various countries to participate and the participants are from 7 different continents in the world.

You could fill your time in the afternoon for informative workshops, ethno-musical lectures, jamming sessions and mini concerts, followed by evening performances from 19:30 until 1:30 in the midnight. The entrance ticket for adults is RM 80 (USD 1 = RM3.50)

Besides there are variety of foods and drinks stalls as well as souvenir of arts and craft stalls up for grab for your friends who missed the renowned event.
